Rachel McKay is a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about nutrition and its impact on health and well-being.  Rachel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She went on to complete her dietetic internship in Springfield, Missouri and gained experience in a clinical setting. Since becoming a dietitian, Rachel has worked at One World Community Health Center in Omaha. As an RD for the WIC Program (Women, Infants, and Children), she provided personalized nutrition counseling to pregnant and postpartum women and parents of infants and children up to age five. In addition, Rachel has taught cholesterol classes for adults through the health center and has taught nutrition classes to high school students. She has experience as an advisor for “Healthy Futures,” a program through Children’s Hospital to teach young children and their families nutrition and lifestyle habits to achieve or maintain a healthy weight.

For the past 7 years, she has been working at a dialysis clinic and providing medical nutrition therapy for patients with chronic kidney disease. She works with patients to include the foods they like while managing the disease.

Rachel believes that nutrition has a strong impact on living a healthy life.  Healthy eating varies from person-to-person, and there is not one perfect plan for everyone. She doesn’t promote fad or restrictive diets because a variety foods can be part of a healthy lifestyle. Rachel works with patients to personalize a plan that works best for them to improve their quality of life.
